I have downloaded GRLevel3, installed and run. Have changed radar stations to known active, as major storms in Birmingham at this time. The program counts down the update from 60 to 0 then recycles but no radar image displays.

I have searched this forum and the only issue I found was opening up a firewall. I've done that and actually turned the firewall off and nothing continues happening.

Running XP Pro if it helps.

Thanks
Rich

Do you see any warnings? Select Products->Warnings to enable them.

Selected "Warnings" and the pop-up window is empty.

The issue is on my laptop, HP(Compaqu) Nx7400. Just downloaded trial to my desktop running on the same network and it loads radar just fine. Hope that helps. Thanks

You need to find out what's different between your laptop and desktop when it comes to networking. Different antivirus software? Different settings?

Firewall and Spyware Doctor w/ Antivirus are both turned off. I use the same on both laptops on the same home network. Still not working. grlevel3.log shows the following:

It would help to know what it is trying to access. I've looked at Ethereal and can't see any requests that look like they are from this software. It would help track it on this end if I knew what requests it was trying to make.

Thanks

Rich

Try running this test program:

http://www.grlevelx.com/downloads/testdownload2.exe

It will, hopefully, give us some idea what's going wrong.

Mike, Sorry this took so long, but your forums email notification didn't work and let me know you responded.

Ran the file: 1st time there was no GR2Analyst subdirectory. I manually created one and reran the program. It created a new KFFC sub under GR2Analyst. On running the program GRLevel3 I got the same info in the .log file as before and I am still not getting any radar data. The text of the last rerun of Testdownload2.exe is as follows:

TestDownload 1.04

=====================================
Calling InternetGetConnectedStateEx:
dwFlags = 0x0012
szConnection = 'LAN Connection'
==================================
Comparing Windows time to NIST time
==================================
GetAtomicTime:
==================================
Checking local data directories
CSIDL_LOCAL_APPDATA = 'C:\Documents and Settings\Richard Maring\Local Settings\Application Data'
szLocalDataDirectory = 'C:\Documents and Settings\Richard Maring\Local Settings\Application Data\GR2Analyst'
==================================
Checking permissions on local data directories
==================================
ReadDirList:
----------------------------------
ReadHttpFile:
dwTotal = 5907
dwRead = 0
dwBuffer = 16384
nFiles = 227
==================================
TestFullGet:
szURL = 'KFFC_20100319_1953'
full GET was successful, status = 200!
==================================
TestPartialGet:
szURL = 'KFFC_20100319_1953'
partial-GET was successful, status = 206!

Press any key to exit...

Thanks for your help.

Weird. There's definitely nothing blocking your internet access. Do this:

1) Select File->Stop Polling
2) Select File->Configure Polling

Is "Use this server" checked? If it is checked, uncheck it and start polling again.

I don't have a clue. Try running this GRLevel3 update to get to the latest and greatest version:

http://www.grlevelx.com/downloads/grlevel3_update.exe

Exit all running instances of GR3 before running the updater. Then start GR3 again.
